"Foul" and "Soul" 

 
 

Foul: Meaning “offensive to the senses” or “pertaining to a ball in baseball”.

          Pronounced the same as the word /fowl/ “barnyard bird – like a chicken”. 

          Rhymes with the word “vowel”, except with an “F”

          Pronounced:  “Fo…Wul” …with a strong ‘W’ sound.

 
Soul: Meaning “the spiritual part of humans”

          Pronounced the same as the word /sole/ “the only one”.

          Pronounced with a strong “Ow” vowel sound, like in the word “Open”.
